JILLIAN KEAVENY
Co-Founder + Lead Instructor

What is your favorite class to teach/why?
THIS is my LEAST favorite question! I like them ALL for very different reasons: Down + Dirty - because of the slowing down to really get into a heavy lift. Hustle + Flow - because the cardio junkie in me comes out AND I absolutely LOVE teaching to the beat of the music. Compass Full Direction - because it’s always a unique blend of fast and slow, heavy weights and cardio, a smorgasbord of exercise if you will.

If you get caught singing loudly in the shower...what song are you singing?
Duh- Anything Missy Elliott. But sometimes she raps too fast for my singing skills.

What do you do for fun outside of Compass?
Be in nature, Dj fitness/yoga events, hunt down the best margaritas in town, soak in Colorado’s hot springs, share precious time with friends + family.

What's your favorite saying or buzzword when you teach?
“You can thank Heather Lorince for this.” - “Squeeze the dickens out of it.” - “Remember when jumping rope used to be fun?” - “This move is terrible news.”

HEATHER LORINCE HARRINGTON
Co-Founder + Lead Instructor

What is your favorite class to teach/why?
Hustle and Flow...because there's no water breaks, there's a mix of cardio and strength and the hour is done before you know what hit you.

If you get caught singing loudly in the shower...what song are you singing?
Anything by Chris Cornell, Justin Timberlake, Two Feet, Billie Eilish, or Alt J. If I'm honest I'm singing the Moana soundtrack with my daughter.

What do you do for fun outside of Compass?
I play on the beach volleyball circuit.

What's your favorite saying or buzzword when you teach?
It's not a favorite saying...it's my ability to not count correctly at all to make you think you're almost done, but nowhere close to done.

CAITLIN PITTAWAY
Co-Owner + Instructor

What is your favorite class to teach/why?
Full Direction. The “you never know what you’re going to get” factor is my favorite. We all have our preferred and least preferred formats (strength, cardio, power) but we need a little bit of everything to be balanced badasses!

If you get caught singing loudly in the shower...what song are you singing?
“Stunnin” by Curtis Waters, really get me jazzed and according to Spotify Pop Smokes "Get Back" was my go to for the last year....

What do you do for fun outside of Compass?
I love to move. Trying new workouts, playing at the park, hiking or just goin for a walk! Spending time with my family who all live here in Denver. Also, petting dogs. More specifically, my dogs, Howie & Scout.

What's your favorite saying or buzzword when you teach?
My absolute favorite thing to say is “Only 45 minutes left” when we’re close to the end of class... It brings me joy to see panic on people’s faces as they whip their heads around to look at someone else to say “no effing way, I’ll leave.” before they realize I’m joking.

TAYLOR AMES
Co-Owner + Instructor

What is your favorite class to teach/why?
Compass Full Direction. And not just because it's the only class I teach... It gives me a chance to combine multiple aspects of fitness, while still being able to add in my own personal twist.

If you get caught singing loudly in the shower...what song are you singing?
"Let It Go" from Frozen. I hit all of the high notes. No problem.

What do you do for fun outside of Compass?
I am a competitive and sponsored triathlete.

What's your favorite saying or buzzword when you teach?
After this, you never have to exercise again, if you so chose!

What is your favorite class to teach/take and why?
Take: Athletic Conditioning/HIIT and Run. I love a fast-paced, how-many-times-are-you-going-to-want-to-throw up workout where the running feels like a break.

Teach: Down and Dirty. Picking up the heavy things is functional and fun, and I love seeing humans push themselves to pick up a heavier object than they thought they could. Down and Dirty is also a great one for metrics: you can measure your progress pretty clearly, and I love to see this!

If you get caught singing loudly in the shower...what song are you singing?
Oh, it's for sure something from a musical. Right now, it's this song from Something Rotten. Highly. Recommend.

What do you do for fun outside of Compass?
Triathlon training, exploring outside (hiking! camping!), cooking plants, finding excuses to make crafts and send snail mail, spending time with friends and my super rad gf (do you know her?) and tending to a tiny gremlin of a dog with whom we cohabitate.

What's your favorite saying or buzzword when you teach?
"It's so good," which roughly translates to, "This hurts like hell, doesn't it?!" :)

CHRISTIN SPENCER
Instructor

What is your favorite class to teach/take and why?
For similar reasons to so many coaches and members, Full Direction! The chance to get my butt kicked (should I say full body kicked?) in an hour… count me in!

If you get caught singing loudly in the shower...what song are you singing?
Yeah! by Usher. Gets me every time.

What do you do for fun outside of Compass?
Anything involving travel! Eating local food, exploring new streets, and I can’t leave out running in a new city! My most recent races were the Berlin and NYC marathons, and my ultimate goal is to complete all six of the Abbott World Majors.

What's your favorite saying or buzzword when you teach?
Still to be determined, but if I had to guess it will be “fight for one more!” and/or “I see you WORKIN!”

MACKENZIE BROWN
Instructor

What is your favorite class to teach/take and why?
If all of the above was an option, that would be my answer not because a weakness of mine is making a singular decision - but because they are all truly amazing classes. But if I had to choose, my favorite class to teach would be Full Direction because nothing is better than pushing others through an all-out, full body, challenge that leaves them feeling accomplished after. And my favorite class to take is Compass North for sure!

If you get caught singing loudly in the shower...what song are you singing?
Truthfully, whatever song I hear my husband whistling, which most of the time is Mariah Carey 'All I Want for Christmas' - doesn't matter what time of year; and to the person who caught me singing loudly - I sincerely apologize.

What do you do for fun outside of Compass?
Exploring any and all farmer's markets and local cafes/coffee spots does somethin' special to my soul. You can also find me traveling, cooking and being outside in the sun hiking, walking, and exploring alongside my husband and friends.

What's your favorite saying or buzzword when you teach?
"Don't quit" and "Yes you can!"

GABI GARCIA
Instructor

What is your favorite class to teach/take, and why?
Favorite class to teach is North, not only because that's where you'll see me on the schedule but because the past couple of years building upper body strength has been a main focus of mine and sharing that motivation with others is just so dang fun!

Favorite class to take is Monday Full-Direction. Initially my friend Kelly and I would challenge ourselves to show up every week at 4:15 and it has since turned into a necessary ritual. It is truly the best energetic start to my week, and a reminder to be grateful for my bodies ability to tackle a kick-ass workout!

If you get caught singing loudly in the shower...what song are you singing?
Depends on the season...the girls who get it, get it! Summer: 6's to 9's by Big Wild. Fall: Vienna by Billy Joel. Winter: Easy on Me by Adele. Spring: Keep Movin by Jungle.

What do you do for fun outside of Compass?
Full-Time I am a High School Counselor. I love dabbling in new hobbies whenever I have the energy. Currently I am loving Mountain Biking, Climbing, Roller Blading, Puzzling, Mid Morning Iced Coffee dates with friends, paddle boarding, Summer Concerts, and I recently learned how to surf! Anything that involves my people, the outdoors, and my pup Milo is typically where you'll find me outside of Compass :)

What's your favorite saying or buzzword when you teach?
I say the word "Amazing!" and "Gorgeous!" A LOT! If you want to know my favorite saying, come to my class and it won't be long until you figure it out teehee
